Article posted: 6th November 2006 So you've set a date, chosen a venue for your ceremony and reception and started looking for your dress. Now it's time to start looking for all the accessories necessary to compliment and complete your dream wedding. Here are some suggestions that may help: Set yourself a budget ( and explain this to the person you are buying from, as I know when people advise us of their budget we do our very best to work within their limits). You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a wonderful wedding, just spend what you have wisely. Try to have a colour theme in mind so everything can be coordinated. Thinks about what your theme for the wedding will be e.g. hearts, butterflies, roses or maybe something that is unique to you as a couple. If your budget is tight think about how many things you can do yourself e.g. You can save on your bomboniere by assembling them yourself. There are ways of making your bomboniere into your place card as well. If at all possible involve your mother-in-law with SOME of the accessories planning. I often hear from mother's-in-law to be that they would love to be included in the excitement of planning the wedding - even if only a little. When choosing a necklace and tiara think about what neckline your dress is and what hairstyle you will be wearing. Do you need to add some height if you are a shorter person or if your taller do you want to minimise your height. Accessories can help in these areas. Give your bridesmaids and other attendants the jewellery they wear on the day as a thank you gift. Your wedding day is a time for enjoyment and celebration and with careful planning you will look back on it with fond memories.
